While existing labels (such as product descriptions and Nutri-Scores) provide some insights, they can be overwhelming or difficult to interpret. Additionally, researching product details independently can be time-consuming, making it harder for shoppers to make informed choices quickly.

The solution

Our solution, FoodPrint, is a mobile app that empowers consumers to make informed choices in supermarkets. By simply scanning a product, users can instantly access comprehensive information about its nutritional value and sustainability impact, presented in clear, digestible descriptions and scores. Unlike existing food apps, FoodPrint goes a step further by personalizing the shopping experience. It offers tailored product recommendations based on dietary needs (e.g., allergies) and budget constraints, promoting accessible options for different buyers. Additionally, the app suggests recipes and links recommended ingredients to available supermarket products, making grocery shopping more convenient and cost-effective.
